Working as a freelancer provides many perks, but managing your own invoices, tax and accounts isn’t usually considered one of them. This is why YellowWork, one of YellowWork’s innovative apps, has built an Automated Invoicing tool that creates invoices automatically by populating all the necessary booking, cost and client details. It’s a huge time saver and allows unlimited freelancer invoices to be created for free.
At the heart of YellowWork is a Calendar that’s designed specifically for managing your freelance work. When you add a booking to your Calendar or receive a booking directly from a client on the platform, you can raise a complete invoice from that booking with just one click. Step 1: Select ‘Create Invoice’
By selecting ‘Invoices’ in the menu, you will be taken to your Invoice dashboard, which displays invoices that you previously created. To raise an invoice, select the yellow ‘Create Invoice/Estimate’ button at the top of that page.
Step 2: Select Your Confirmed Booking
After selecting the ‘Create Invoice/Estimate’ button, you will see a page that displays all of your YellowWork Calendar bookings. Ticking a green ‘Confirmed’ booking will enable you to raise an invoice and ticking a purple ‘Pending’ booking will enable you to raise an Estimate.
If you haven’t previously added the booking to your Calendar that you want to create an invoice from, you can add it here, by selecting the grey ‘Add Booking’ button.
Once you have ticked the booking that you want to raise an invoice from, select the yellow ‘Create Invoice’ button at the bottom.
Step 3: View Complete Invoice
When you select ‘Create Invoice’, an invoice will appear with all your client, cost and booking details automatically populated.
On this page, you have the option to edit the basic invoice details and change the invoice design and colour.
Please note: to change bookings details (such as the dates and rates), you will need to edit the original booking and then create a new invoice; there are several benefits for having your invoices linked directly to your Calendar bookings, which you will discover throughout your booking, management and payment journey.
